The story behind Plume

”It all started when I had just given birth myself. With a sore and swollen perineum, the advice from the healthcare system was to step into the shower and clean myself every time I changed my maternity pad, which was many times a day in the beginning. It was painful and very difficult. A friend of mine told me she had bought a so-called 'peri-bottle' in the US. She gave it to me and said: fill it with lukewarm water and use it every time you go to the bathroom instead of getting in the shower several times a day. I tried it and WOW – it was so much easier!

After trying this bottle, my thoughts started spinning. How could this product not be available in Sweden when we are at the forefront of so much else? I also realized that there is a gap in society. Why aren't we talking about the postpartum period, and why don't we support the new mother more?

A new dream was born, and I felt it was my mission to help women struggling after childbirth, just as I had. With a 2-month-old baby, I started planning to develop a bottle similar to the one I had tried myself, and this was the beginning of Plume.”
